Media coverage is a surefire way to increase your nonprofit?s visibility. It provides legitimacy about the great work you do, while also capturing an audience that may have never been aware of your organization before.
Given today?s ever-changing media landscape, how can you increase your organization's chances of being noticed and mentioned? KMBC 9 News 5 and 9 pm weekday anchor Haley Harrison brings nearly 14 years of journalism experience to teach nonprofits how to get media coverage to bring attention to their mission. She?ll also provide examples of real, creative and meaningful stories featuring local organizations.
Personally Harrison has been an active volunteer with the Village Presbyterian Church Food Pantry and Lead to Read, and wants to help nonprofits understand the best ways of getting the attention of reporters to share their inspiring stories with all of Kansas City.
