Position Title: Vice President of the Board of Directors
  
Overview of GIFTS TLC:
The mission of GIFTS TLC is to support NICU parents by providing resources to alleviate their financial burden, allowing them to focus on their infant's recovery. The organization envisions a future where preemie care is readily accessible, and parents receive both financial and emotional support. GIFTS TLC aims to create a positive and encouraging experience for parents in need, fostering a commitment to enrich and advocate for diverse backgrounds. Additionally, the organization provides care packages to offer relief and support during the stressful time spent in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.


Role Description:
The Vice President of Gifts TLC is an essential member of the volunteer Board of Directors, tasked with supporting the President and collaborating with fellow board members to advance the organization's mission and objectives. This role involves assisting in strategic planning, overseeing committees, and representing the organization in various capacities.


Responsibilities


Leadership Support:

  • Collaborate with the President to provide leadership and direction to the Board of Directors, committees, and volunteers.
  • Assist in setting strategic goals, developing policies, and ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and vision.


Committee Oversight:

  • Chair or oversee board committees as assigned, ensuring their effectiveness in achieving goals and objectives.
  • Provide guidance and support to committee chairs, facilitating communication and collaboration among members.


External Representation:

  • Serve as a spokesperson and ambassador for Gifts TLC, representing the organization at events, meetings, and community engagements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, partners, donors, and other organizations to advance the organization's mission and expand its reach.


Strategic Planning:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans and initiatives to support the organization's growth and impact.
  • Offer insights, perspectives, and recommendations to the Board on emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges affecting the organization.


Succession Planning:

  • Assist in identifying and cultivating future leaders within the organization, ensuring continuity and sustainability of leadership.
  • Support the President in succession planning efforts to transition smoothly to new leadership when necessary.


Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably in a non-profit or volunteer organization setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a commitment to advancing the organization's mission and vision.
  • Experience in committee leadership, event planning, or community engagement is desirable but not required.
  • Passion for supporting NICU parents and families, demonstrating empathy, compassion, and a dedication to making a positive impact.
