Position Title: Board Member

Organization: Kansas City Public Schools Education Foundation

The Kansas City Public Schools Education Foundation is seeking dedicated individuals to join its Board of Directors. Successful candidates will be passionate about the Foundation's mission and committed to upholding its goals through active participation and leadership.

Position Overview
As a Board Member, you will play a vital role in the governance, fiscal oversight, and strategic direction of the Foundation. You will collaborate with fellow board members to ensure the organization's health, sustainability, and mission-driven impact. This position requires active engagement in fundraising, advocacy, and organizational support.

Key Responsibilities

1. Fiscal Oversight:

   • Review, approve, and monitor the Foundation’s budget alongside fellow board members.
   • Participate actively in fundraising efforts to support the budget and organizational goals.

2. Governance and Leadership:

   • Understand and fulfill legal and ethical responsibilities as a Board Member.
   • Oversee the implementation of policies and programs to ensure alignment with the Foundation’s mission.
   • Uphold the bylaws and policies, ensuring the health and success of the Foundation.

3. Financial Contribution:

   • Make an annual financial donation to the Foundation, either as a one-time gift or through periodic contributions throughout the year.

4. Fundraising Engagement:

   • Actively participate in fundraising activities, including individual solicitations, events, mail appeals, and other initiatives, to support the Foundation’s mission.

5. Advocacy and Support:

   • Promote the Foundation within the community and support its staff and initiatives.

6. Board and Committee Participation:

   • Attend board meetings, be available for consultations, and contribute to at least one committee.
   • Maintain active engagement, offering resignation if unable to meet obligations.
