Board Member

Pets for Life, Inc. Board of Director positions (3)) open for a 2-year term starting January, 2027.  The board meets quarterly and conducts the annual meeting in the Fall.  Responsibilities include attendance at the meetings, and participates on and/or leads one of the 4 committees - Operations, Publicity, Funding or Education/Programs.  

 

Pets for Life, Inc. is Kansas City’s only local animal assisted therapy organization.  Started in 1984 by William and Harriet Snyder, the organization has grown from a handful of volunteers to over 100 handler/animal teams visiting over 100 facilities in the Kansas City area. Our animals currently include dogs, cats, a rabbit and 2 mini horses.  We visit all populations and demographics at various facilities such as skilled care, rehabilitation and nursing centers, mental health facilities, shelters, schools, libraries, and more.  We also attend numerous mental health related events such as suicide prevention sessions, stress relief for students during exam week, stress relief for nurses and first responders, and any other similar events.
