A recent study by the Afterschool Alliance reports that parents face many barriers to enrolling their children in after-school programs. Top factors for parents not enrolling their students in these programs include expense (57%), students not having safe transportation to/from the program (52%), and after-school program locations are inconvenient (51%). Be a part of a team dedicated to eliminating these barriers.
Phoenix Family's HIKE (Help Instill the Key to Education) programs are located on our resident properties and are free of charge for the families in our communities. Students in K-8th grade can come from 4:30pm-6:00pm for a meal and engaging structured activities. For an hour and a half, a week we are looking for volunteers to come and have fun while making a significant impact on the lives of our students and families. You will be supporting the staff with the themed activities and helping ensure the program runs smoothly. Your biggest job? Have fun and build relationships with HIKE students.
