It is our mission at Whole Parent Foundation to provide inclusive and accessible mental health support and community for pregnant persons, parents, partners, and their support systems in order to enrich the health and wellbeing of our Kansas and Missouri communities.
By networking with organizations and providers across both states, we are working to improve community services and bring more resources to you: more support groups, lactation and feeding support, food assistance, childcare options and more.
Grant Coordinator
Responsibilities
Grant Coordinator
- Manage all grant applications and yearly grants calendar
- Research and identify applicable grants
- Write grant applications for grant committee review
- Establish relationships and partnerships with organizations when appropriate (e.g. for joint applications)
- Submit grants to respective organizations; manage communications with granting orgs & WPF board
- Track and document all grant requirements when a grant is received
- Ensure all grant-required activities are completed thoroughly and on time
- Work with treasurer to coordinate and track grant budget
- Assist with tracking demographics and metrics specific to grant opportunities
- Improve processes and streamline activities as needed
- Attend informational meetings about grants as needed
Board Member
- Attend monthly 1-hour board meetings
- Attend monthly 1-hour Development subcommittee meeting
- Act as representative and point of contact for WPF
- Assist with networking for organization
- Help with agendas and facilitate board meetings/strategic planning meetings
- Fill in to facilitate groups when needed
- Onboard new board members
- Assist with advocacy and policy efforts
- Educate the community on WPF and parental mental health
Qualifications
- Experience existing within and serving underrepresented communities
- Experience writing and submitting grants, especially for nonprofits and/or especially for infrastructure and administrative support (at least two years preferred)
- Must be available for monthly board meetings on Mondays for one hour
- Must commit to participating in other board activities, such as fundraising, publicizing WPF’s events and efforts, and annual strategic planning
- Must align personally with and adhere to WPF’s mission and values
- Experience creating and managing development programs preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain strong partnerships, relationships and collaborations
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

At this time, the WPF board is a volunteer working board. This means that all the board members conduct their activities and responsibilities as unpaid volunteers.
