About Us

Asylum Clinic Kansas City (ACKC) aims to provide as many free legal consultations as possible to immigrants in the Kansas City community, as well as pro bono representation as capacity permits to diminish the number of people navigating the complex immigration system unaided. The ACKC collaborates with community organizations to ensure we are providing holistic and trauma-informed services to our clients.

ACKC has been funded principally by two government grants that are sunsetting in late 2026. ACKC staff, Board, and volunteers are working to replace that funding through private philanthropy and special events. ACKC is actively pursuing expansion opportunities with area non-profits, health clinics, hospitals, and any organization whose clients might need legal representation.
