Heartland Special Needs Foundation, Inc. Reaffirms Commitment to Supporting the Special Needs Community with a New Name and Renewed Vision
Overland Park, KS – 6/06/2025 – Special Needs Assured, Inc. a dedicated not-for-profit organization supporting individuals with special needs, is proud to announce its rebranding and renaming as Heartland Special Needs Foundation. While the name may have changed, the organization's mission remains steadfast: to provide funding for underfunded Special Needs Trusts (SNTs), offer education on the importance of these trusts, and bring the special needs community together to foster support and inclusivity.
“Though we have a new name, our vision and commitment to supporting individuals with special needs and their families has never been stronger,” said Evie Curtis, Board President of Heartland Special Needs Foundation. “We are excited about this transformation, as it enables us to reflect the growing scope of our work while continuing to ensure that the special needs community has access to the resources and support they deserve.”
The organization’s core mission focuses on three key areas:
- Funding Underfunded Special Needs Trusts: Many families face the challenge of securing adequate funding for special needs trusts, which are essential for providing financial security to individuals with disabilities. The Heartland Special Needs Foundation remains committed to helping bridge this funding gap.
- Education on ABLE Accounts and Special Needs Trusts (SNTs): The Foundation will continue to offer expert-led events, fundraisers, and provide resources to help families and caregivers better understand the complex landscape of Special Needs Trusts.
- Community Building: Heartland Special Needs Foundation aims to bring the special needs community together through events, support networks, and partnered organizations, ensuring that individuals and families feel supported and connected.
The rebranding process includes a new logo, updated website, and a renewed approach to expanding partnerships with other organizations, advocates, and policymakers to amplify their work. The name change is a reflection of the organization's growth and its desire to be even more effective in serving individuals with special needs across the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan area.
“Our new name embodies our commitment to a brighter, more inclusive future for individuals with special needs,” said Evie Curtis. “We are dedicated to helping families navigate the complexities of special needs trusts, providing them with the tools, funding, and community support they need to thrive.”
The organization encourages those who have been impacted by their work or who want to get involved to visit the newly designed website at HeartlandSpecialNeedsFoundation.org for more information about upcoming events, educational resources, and ways to contribute.
