About Englewood Arts: Englewood Arts is a dynamic 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and enriching the arts within our community. We provide a variety of cultural, educational, and artistic programs aimed at fostering creativity and engagement for people of all ages.
Position Summary:
The Part-Time (20-30 hours/week) Development Director will lead the organization’s fundraising efforts and help secure resources to advance the mission of Englewood Arts. This role will include developing and implementing fundraising strategies, managing donor relations, and overseeing grant proposals and reporting. As a part-time position, the Development Director will focus on high-impact initiatives and key fundraising activities with a goal to sustain and grow revenue streams while building strong relationships within the community.
Key Responsibilities:

  1. Fundraising Strategy & Planning:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising plan to meet the organization’s short- and long-term financial goals.
    • Create strategies for donor engagement and retention, working to increase revenue from individuals, foundations, corporations, and government sources.
    • Collaborate with the Executive Director to set annual fundraising targets and determine key priorities.
    • Serve as staff liaison to the Finance Committee to fuel board efforts to raise funds.
  2. Donor Cultivation & Stewardship:
    • Identify and cultivate relationships with major gift prospects, including individuals, corporations, and foundations.
    • Engage in donor stewardship activities to maintain and enhance long-term donor relationships.
    • Write compelling proposals and conduct meetings to solicit major gifts for general operating support and specific program funding.
    • Oversee annual fundraising event, membership campaign and end of year solicitations, including direct mail appeals, email solicitations, and online fundraising efforts.
    • Develop and implement strategies to increase donor participation and contributions, particularly through individual giving.
    • Collaborate with development team to grow donor database, ensuring data is accurate and current.
    • Collaborate with marketing team to ensure all external facing media platforms are maximized for donations.
  3. Grant Writing & Reporting:
    • Lead the development of grant proposals to secure foundation, government, and corporate funding.
    • Manage the preparation and submission of reports to funders, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and deadlines.
    • Research and identify new grant opportunities, particularly those relevant to arts and affordable housing initiatives.?
  4. Engagement & Support:
    • Collaborate with the Executive Director and Fundraising Committee to identify new funding opportunities and donor prospects.
    • Assist in providing regular updates regarding fundraising progress and strategy.
    • Support Board members in their fundraising roles and encourage their active participation in donor cultivation.
  5. Community & Corporate Outreach:
    • Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, civic organizations, and community leaders to expand the organization’s network of support.
    • Represent the organization at community meetings, events, and networking opportunities.
  6. Financial Reporting & Monitoring:
    • Track fundraising progress toward goals, assist in the development of fundraising budgets, and provide regular updates to the Executive Director. 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, arts administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a focus on donor relations, grant writing, and event planning.
  • Demonstrated experience securing major gifts and cultivating long-term donor relationships.
  • Knowledge of the nonprofit arts and/or affordable housing sectors is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate the organization’s mission to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with fundraising software or donor management systems is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a passion for the mission of the organization.

Job Type: Part Time

Salary Range: $30,000 - 49,999
