The Development and Grants Manager will work closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and other designated staff to secure funding and support for The Rabbit hOle. This position includes strategic planning, donor management, stewardship, prospecting and grant writing to advance the organization's mission and programs.
This position is full-time, eligible for benefits, with growth opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Grant Writing and Management:
- Research, identify, and pursue grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, individuals and other philanthropic organizations.
- Develop persuasive grant proposals and applications that align with the organization's mission, programs, and strategic priorities.
- Manage the full grant lifecycle, including proposal development, submission, reporting, and compliance.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with funders to sustain and expand grant funding opportunities.
Donor Cultivation and Stewardship:
- Identify and cultivate relationships with individual donors, sponsors, and other potential supporters.
- Develop and implement strategies to engage and steward donors, including personalized communications, donor recognition, and cultivation events.
- Collaborate with the Director to cultivate major donors and secure major gifts.
Fundraising Planning and Strategy:
- Work with the Director and development committee to develop and implement comprehensive fundraising plans and strategies.
- Monitor fundraising goals, track progress, and analyze fundraising data to inform strategic decision-making and resource allocation.
- Continuously explore new fundraising opportunities and innovative approaches to revenue generation.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate closely with program staff to gather information, stories, and data for grant proposals and reports.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including staff, board members, and volunteers, to ensure alignment and support for fundraising initiatives.
- Represent The Rabbit hOle externally at networking events, conferences, and meetings to promote awareness and support for the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience fundraising, development and grant writing in the arts and culture space.
- Demonstrated success in securing grants from government agencies, foundations, and other sources.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to craft compelling grant proposals, reports, and donor communications.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Knowledge of fundraising software and databases (Salesforce a plus).
