Summary of Position

Kanbe’s Markets is a quickly-growing 501(c)3 fighting food insecurity and mitigating large-scale food waste by rescuing perfectly good food that would be headed to the landfill, and redirecting it into low-access communities through partnerships with over 125 local small food retailers and 60+ community organizations. Over the past 10 years, Kanbe’s has redirected millions of pounds of food that would otherwise be wasted, reinvested over $300,000 back into the local community through its unique revenue-sharing model, today serving approximately 530,000 Kansas Citians with fresh food access.

Building strong donor relationships and deepening engagement with Kansas City’s incredible philanthropic community is vital to the expansion of Kanbe’s mission. As Kanbe’s continues to grow its operational efforts and impact, increasing the fresh food it is able to rescue and get back into the community, the organization is looking for a thoughtful and motivated leader to grow the organization to the next level, cultivating and stewarding relationships with major investors to the organization and overseeing and managing a portfolio of these donors.

This position will be responsible for attaining over $750,000 in fundraising contributions, focused on one-time and mutli-year donations from individual donors over $10,000. This position will also directly support the CEO/CIO in the management of capital campaigns.
