KCFAA’s mission is to make dance accessible to all people by presenting the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Ailey II, teaching young people critical life skills through dance, and modeling interracial and multi-cultural community partnerships. The Education Programs Coordinator will help to ensure that our impactful arts education programs are planned and executed successfully. Position Summary

The Education Programs Coordinator is responsible for planning, scheduling, and invoicing KCFAA education programs and coordinating the student enrollment process. They provide support for in-school programming, Studio, AileyCamp (planning, recruitment, and interview scheduling), Ujima, Summer Dance, First Fridays, and other education programming administration. This position provides support for grant reporting and oversees the Jackrabbit system administration. The successful candidate will have strong demonstrated leadership skills and be able to work both independently and as a team member.
 

Duties and Responsibilities

Education Programs Coordination
  • Provides planning and scheduling support for all education programs.
    • In-school workshops and residencies
    • Studio Program (Grades K-12, after-school and Saturdays)
    • Studio Plus (Adults)
    • Ailey Trio
    • Setting the Stage
    • AAADT and Ailey II School Performance and Lecture Demonstrations
    • AileyCamp
    • Summer Dance
    • First Fridays
    • Ujima (Boys Class)
  • Coordinates the student enrollment and payment process and manages the student database including data entry, attendance recording, and report preparation. Ensures all information is up-to-date and accurate. Acts as the administrator for the Jackrabbit Class enrollment system.
  • Provides report preparation and database management for all education programs (using Jackrabbit Class and Excel).
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of program planning and implementation efforts (consistent with established deadlines and budget parameters).
  • Schedules schools and community partners for outreach programming. Works with the Finance Team to prepare invoices and track payments for client workshops.
  • Schedules teaching artists for KCFAA outreach in coordination with the CAO and teaching artists.
  • Cultivates relationships with school districts, Kansas City Young Audiences, and other community partners by way of email and telephone correspondence to support and promote Arts in Education programs.
  • Provides data gathering for grant support, working with the Development Team. Records and reports audience attendance numbers.
  • Takes minutes at program committee meetings as needed or assigned. 
 Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and Internet usage. Experience with QuickBooks, Jackrabbit Class, and Salesforce is a plus.
