Earned Revenue and Retail Operations Manager - Linda Hall Library

Reporting to the VP of Business Development and Marketing, the Earned Revenue and Retail Operations Manager plays a key role in shaping exceptional guest experiences by overseeing operations that support the Library’s strategic initiatives, including earned revenue programs, merchandising, and event services.

Responsibilities
Event Venue Services

  • Field incoming facility rental requests and coordinate with internal staff to ensure resource feasibility.
  • Support external outreach to corporate event planners and wedding planners to showcase the Linda Hall Library as a premier, one-of-a-kind event venue.
  • Manage external event rentals, including contracting, vendor approval, and venue coordination.
Gift Shop/Retail Operations
  • Play a key role in launching the Library’s new gift shop including planning and development.
  • Plan, buy, and manage inventory for the gift shop, while overseeing expense tracking and performance.
  • Manage and train staff, ensuring consistent Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and excellent customer service.
Business Acumen
  • Manage day-to-day operations for revenue-generating programs such as venue rentals and retail merchandising to drive profitability and guest satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain workflows, SOPs, and performance metrics for operational efficiency.
  • Support forecasting, budgeting, and cost analysis for new projects and initiatives.
  • Negotiate contracts and maintain relationships with external vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Track data metrics for insight to leadership around visitor engagement, sales and operational performance.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to co-develop and implement other earned income initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, operations management, or related field or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in hospitality or retail operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally, managing multiple priorities.
  • Prior project management experience preferred.
  • Experience with a point of service system helpful.
