Executive Director – SevenDays®
Part-Time | 20 Hours/Week | Year-Round
Reports to: President of the Board of Directors
Direct Reports Include: Chief Administrator, Community Projects Specialist, Director of Youth Engagement, Marketing & Social Media and Public Relations & Media.

Position Overview:
The Executive Director of SevenDays® will be kind, compassionate and excited to join our mission to overcome hate by promoting kindness and understanding through education and dialogue. You won’t need benefits but will appreciate the flexibility of hours and the amazing staff and volunteers we already have in place.  You will provide strategic, operational, and fundraising leadership to support our mission. This part-time role is ideal for a passionate, experienced leader who thrives in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment. You will work closely with the board, staff, volunteers, and community to ensure the effective and sustainable functioning of our organization. Your leadership will be vital as we enter our 12th year of service.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership

  • Implement and evaluate the 2024–2026 strategic plan with the Board.
  • Guide the organization’s long-term vision while managing short-term goals.
  • Expand and deepen engagement, especially among high school youth and community partners.
Fundraising & Development
  • Lead fundraising strategies in collaboration with the board and staff to meet an annual goal of $300,000–$350,000 (including salary, operational budget, and reserve).
  • Diversify and grow donor bases including individuals, corporate partners, and foundation grants.
  • Grow the monthly donor program from 22 donors to 100 by August 31, 2026, with an average contribution of $30 per month.
  • Oversee and coordinate with our grant writer to secure foundation/government grants and manage reporting.
  • Provide leadership and support to the Kindness Breakfast Producer and Sponsor Coordinator, working as a team toward a positive financial and inspirational outcome.
Program Oversight
  • Ensure Youth Engagement and Community programs align with our mission and strategic goals.
Board Relations
  • Serve as a primary liaison between our board and organization/ internal staff.
  • Participate in board meetings and support governance, planning, and development efforts. Relay information from the internal staff to the board and vice versa.
  • Recruit, supervise, and develop staff and volunteers, fostering a positive and inclusive work culture.
Staff Relations & Responsibilities
The position involves collaborating with internal staff and volunteers to effectively execute and expand annual events such as the SevenDays® Kindness Week and Kindness Youth Engagement initiatives. This role is pivotal in making final decisions for team collaboration, ensuring cohesive and strategic alignment.
  • Leadership: Provide people leadership by guiding, asking pertinent questions, and confirming alignment with the nonprofit's strategy and budget.
  • Decision Making: Act as the primary decision-maker for the group-led internal staff, ensuring efficient and effective execution of initiatives.
  • Team Collaboration: Lead weekly and monthly meetings where team members discuss their respective responsibilities, brainstorm ideas, and seek buy-in from other team members.
    • Current Leadership Context:
  • John Prutsman, the President of the Board, has also served as the part-time Executive Director. He emphasizes the importance of people leadership, which includes guiding the team, fostering collaboration, and maintaining strategic and budgetary awareness.
Financial Management
  • Partner with the board on budgeting, financial planning, and compliance to ensure fiscal health and sustainability.
  • Monitor expenditures and maintain financial integrity aligned with fundraising targets. Provide support to the Kindness Breakfast Producer and Sponsor Coordinator in direct correlation with a budget and for the Cultivate Kindness Breakfast.
External Relations & Public Representation
  • Serve as a spokesperson and advocate for the organization.
  • Build relationships with community leaders, partners, media, and other nonprofits to expand visibility and impact.
  • Represent SevenDays® at events and public engagements.

Qualifications:
  • Proven leadership experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations.
  • Strong track record in fundraising, particularly individual giving, grant writing, and donor relations.
  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect across diverse groups.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit financial and operational management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a part-time team and volunteer board.
  • Passion for kindness, inclusion, and youth empowerment.
