Grants & Finance Specialist

The Grants and Finance Specialist will be responsible for securing and managing funding sources that support the sustainability and growth of CACKS. This position will oversee all grant writing, reporting, and compliance processes while identifying and developing new funding opportunities through state, federal, and private foundations. Additionally, this role will assist in building financial sustainability strategies for individual CACs to strengthen the statewide advocacy network.

This is a remote position; however, applicants must reside in the state of Kansas. Occasional in-state travel is required, and funding is not available to support travel from outside of Kansas.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify, research, and apply for grant funding opportunities that align with CACKS’ mission and strategic priorities.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of grant administration, including proposal writing, budget development, compliance tracking, and reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with the Executive Director and Operations Manager to ensure accurate financial oversight of grants.
  • Support CACs in identifying and applying for local, state, and federal funding opportunities.
  • Manage and maintain passthrough funding sources from CACKS to CACs. 
  • Develop donor engagement strategies to cultivate relationships with corporate partners, foundations, and individual donors.
  • Monitor grant expenditures and ensure compliance with funding regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Assist in developing financial sustainability plans for both CACKS and member CACs.
  • Track and analyze funding trends to inform long-term fundraising and grant strategies.
  • Create impact reports that demonstrate the effectiveness of CACKS programs and services for funders and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure timely submission of narrative and financial reports to funders. 
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, public administration, finance, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit financial management, or grant-funded program support.
  • Demonstrated success in securing and managing grant funding from multiple sources.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state grant regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional writing, analytical, and research skills.
  • Experience developing sustainability and fundraising strategies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, grant management software, and donor databases.
