RESPONSIBILITIES
This Grants Analyst (GA) position ensures timely, compliant, and quality grant processes. In addition, the GA works closely with and supports grant-making associates providing internal consulting and guidance as needed.
 
Specific Responsibilities include:
 
  • Administer the stages and components of the grants cycle including grant compliance, documentation, reporting, financial due diligence, budget coding, and close-out.
  • Partner with  program staff on the grants process to review and assess grantee organization financial position.
  • Propose and implement grantmaking requirements that optimize and ensure effective grant workflow, collaborating with program staff or other colleagues to ensure quality and timeliness around all aspects of the grant cycle.
  • Ensure grants comply with IRS regulations and Foundation-wide policies.
  • Review the grant award letter and terms for accuracy and reasonableness.
  • Monitor and work with program and grants associates to ensure timely grantee reporting.
  • Assist in training, managing, and guiding associates through the grants cycle.
  • Review and edit grant data, and assist with grant-related tax return preparation and reporting.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports for various users, e.g., program grants listing, and portfolio inventories.
  • Review and assist in preparing relevant grant recommendation materials for the Board or other audiences.
  • Analyze budget and expenditure reports to assist program teams in managing their grants budget.
  • Monitor Fluxx queues to ensure timely execution of grants through the workflow, including monitoring for compliance and conflicts of interest early in the grant process.
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, liberal arts or a related area of study preferred or equivalent years of experience.
 
Work Experience: At least three years’ work experience working in financial administration. Experience working with grants preferred.
 
Travel: This position does not require business travel.

  • Possesses computer literacy skills, including proficiency with Microsoft tools, Box, Slack, and social media, grant-processing system experience, e.g. FLUXX, preferred.
