Children's Therapist

Hope House, Inc., a non-profit domestic violence service agency, is currently seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Therapist to work with children who have witnessed and/or are experiencing domestic violence, specifically those residing in the shelter facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions)

  • Provide crisis intervention services such as safety planning and domestic violence education to children and their non-offending parent.
  • Provide support to all children and families residing in the emergency shelter facility, as well as support to staff working in shelter to assist them in handling complex situations.
  • Provide individual therapy sessions to children in shelter as well as a small caseload of outreach clients.
  • Provide clinical case management/case support to children and families as needed.
  • Facilitate regular support or psycho-educational groups for children of varying ages.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that reflect client input and unique needs.
  • Maintain clinical files and documentation according to quality assurance standards.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule.

AVAILABLE SCHEDULE:

  • The Therapist will typically work Monday - Friday but is expected to adjust their schedule to meet the needs of clients. This will include some evenings and weekends as those are the hours when children are not in school.
  • Some remote work may be possible but is not guaranteed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in counseling psychology, social work, or comparable field; and
  • Licensed in the state of Missouri or licensed eligible (LPC, LCSW, PLPC, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Previous experience working with survivors of domestic violence

Salary Range: $50,000 - 74,999
