The Johnson County Library is looking for a Donor Relations Coordinator for our development department. This new position will report to the Library’s Development Director/Foundation Executive Director and will work with our four-person team to grow the Johnson County Library Foundation. Fundraising supports our outstanding 14 branch libraries, over 20 programs, and over $3 million endowment.
The Donor Relations Coordinator position is ideal for someone who wants to be part of a strong team that values long term relationships with donors and library patrons. The coordinator will be tasked to create and implement a new annual direct mail/email/texting plan. Additionally, they will prospect, cultivate, solicit, and steward annual and event gifts focusing on donors in the $500 to $15,000 donation range. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are needed. This person will be representing the Library and County at many community networking events like those sponsored by the local chambers. This person must have the ability to work in a highly collaborative environment with library colleagues and Foundation Board Members. First review of applications will take place on March 3, 2025. Minimum Job Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Business Administration, or relevant field is required. Four (4) years of experience in development/fundraising or relevant experience is also required.
Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department/Agency.

Preferred Qualifications:
One (1) year of experience in major gift fundraising and three (3) years of experience in public service or non-profit organizations is preferred.
Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions:
All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation.
Travel required 10% in the KC metro area.
