POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to Director of Community Outreach, the Brand Ambassador is a full-time nonexempt position that is focused on generating new leads for all agency departments by sharing, representing, and promoting the BBBSKC brand and mission. This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service through living the mission of BBBSKC with every interaction and will work closely with multiple departments to achieve maximum representation across the metro area.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for creating and generating new leads for multiple departments to assist with driving and attaining department and agency goals, with an Initial goal of bringing in at least 200 leads. Process and follow up with all new leads.
- Represent BBBSKC at community and organizational meetings and events throughout the Kansas City metro area to promote the organization, build relationships, and generate new leads, including prospective Bigs, event participants, donors, and community partners.
- Inspire others to get involved by sharing the mission and your personal “why”.
- Lead at least 20 corporate lunch and learn presentations about various ways individuals can get involved with BBBSKC.
- Publicly speak at small and large events on the mission of BBBSKC. Set up BBBSKC booths to represent the Agency and identify new leads.
- Attend 6-8 regular networking events with Chambers and other organizations per month.
- Conduct one-on-one meetings with individuals seeking to learn more about the organization.
- Lead our monthly Big Info Session presentations for incoming volunteers.
- Collaborate with the Community Outreach team to plan and promote recruitment events, manage Big recruitment campaigns, and implement strategies to attract new Bigs and Littles to the program.
- Attend BBBS match activities and special events to network, speak and gain new connections and referrals.
- Assist with building new Community Outreach partnerships.
- Proactively seek out opportunities to connect different groups, individuals, and corporations to BBBSKC.
- Network and engage in activities with the four BBBSKC Board groups.
- Flexible to work nights and weekends regularly. You should expect to work a minimum of 2-3 evening or weekend days per week.
- Other duties as assigned.
ABOUT YOU
Our ideal candidate will be a team player, who demonstrates a passion for connecting and networking in the community. This person will have outstanding customer service skills and is comfortable speaking in front of a crowd, large or small. The position requires the ability to work autonomously, drive, enthusiasm, initiative, and flexibility with a willingness to work as needed to accomplish job requirements.
Candidates must also possess the ability to set and accomplish goals. Must be highly organized with the ability to multitask, implement systems and follow-up processes, able to effectively work under pressure, use independent judgment and produce a quality work product within tight time constraints. You should be able to work independently and work well with a team as you will work alongside our BBBSKC team members.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum one year of customer service, sales or marketing experience, two years preferred
- Experience in nonprofit and/or recruiting strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field preferred
- Experience supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives preferred
- Experience in marketing and networking preferred
- Bilingual a plus

STARTING SALARY
$45,000 annually
