Position Objective

The Resource Specialist Supervisor will oversee all Resource Specialists, ensuring the execution of day-to-day functions, employment assessments, evaluations, and other supervisory duties. This role will maintain operational efficiency, provide leadership and guidance, and support staff in delivering high-quality resource solutions to households in our area of coverage. The Resource Specialist Supervisor will utilize the Client-Centric Service Model to address the needs and barriers of clients, promoting self-sufficiency and dignity. This position is 100% on site and works Monday - Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. out of our Rockhurst location, at 5151 Troost Ave, Ste 100, Kansas City, MO 64110. We work a 38-hour condensed workweek and are off on Fridays!

 

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and oversee all Resource Specialists, ensuring smooth daily operations.  
  • Provide guidance on employment assessments, evaluations, and other staff responsibilities.  
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to monitor progress and address challenges.  
  • Acquire and maintain in-depth knowledge of community resources specific to housing, transportation, rent and utility assistance, mental health, physical health, food, employment, and substance abuse needs.  
  • Develop and maintain internal programming knowledge, ensuring Resource Specialists adhere to eligibility criteria and program guidelines.  
  • Provides supervision and guidance to social work students and interns, ensuring adherence to professional standards and supporting student development of case management skills. 
  • Build relationships with local business partners for emergency assistance resources.  
  • Develop comprehensive resource lists for individual and agency use.  
  • Maintain and update resource lists on a monthly basis.  
  • Provide short-term, same-day service coordination for individuals seeking support from Catholic Charities.  
  • Track data and complete reports as required.  
  • Manage budget and track expenditures.  
  • Train new staff and volunteers regarding resource solutions and program policies.  
  • Represent Catholic Charities in community meetings and partnerships.  
  • In conjunction with other staff members, identify and implement actions to improve processes ensuring quality services are offered.  
  • Assist with Catholic Charities Marketing department opportunities for media to promote success stories.  
  • Oversee service inquiries, screening, and assessment of client needs.  
  • Facilitate client connections to Catholic Charities programs and external resources.  
  • Connect clients to volunteer mentors where appropriate and possible.  
  • Perform other supervisory duties as assigned.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or human services-related field from an accredited institution required. Candidates with no degree may be considered if they have 10 or more years of relevant experience.  
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in direct services, case management, or substantial knowledge of Kansas City social services resources.  
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.  
  • LMSW strongly preferred.
