POSITION SUMMARY:
Successfully promote and support the mission of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas as guided by the Catholic Social Teachings by serving as part of a multifaceted team to provide wrap-around case management for men living at our Shalom House Transitional Shelter. Provide strength-based financial case management to assist men in removing financial barriers to housing by promoting budgeting, building savings, improving credit, and reducing debt. Provide direct service including: needs assessment, financial coaching, monitoring appropriate action plans, group facilitation and information and referrals to community resources. EEO.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide financial empowerment specific services including: budget coaching, credit coaching, motivational interviewing, financial education, etc. Maintain confidentiality of all clients. Monitor progress of men enrolled in the program through weekly scheduled visits.
- Demonstrate a high level of respect for the men transitioning out of homelessness.
- Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in record keeping. Maintain case file for each client with appropriate documentation per guidelines and enter all necessary information into data system. Accurately track and input data for service recipients and prepare monthly reports using monthly report form.
- Hold all program participants accountable to program requirements.
- Regularly and effectively communicate with supervisor, transitional program director, other case managers, and program participants.
- Participate in monthly staffing of cases to offer support and insight for additional resources.
- Attend bi-weekly house meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Must complete VIRTUS training, background screening, drug testing, and any ongoing training as required.
- Experience working with individuals with barriers to housing (incarceration, mental health challenges, addiction).
- Experience in strength-based case management with an emphasis on budget coaching and monitoring finances.
- HUD Housing Counselor Certification (or willing to obtain within first year).
- College degree in human service field preferred.
- Must have hands-on ability to work with computer programs to include proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams and the internet.
- Ability work a shift that includes some evenings each week.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and moving.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
- Must have the physical ability and appropriate licensure for driving.
