Kansas City, MO. Rose Brooks Center, a non-profit domestic violence agency, is currently seeking a full-time Shelter Manager. This position is responsible for providing supervision and leadership to Shelter Advocates in the provision of services for the residential program and callers on the 24-hour hotline and daily shelter operations. The manager ensures advocacy and shelter operations are consistent with Rose Brooks Center’s shelter model of operations, principles of trauma informed care, accessibility, equity and inclusion, quality assurance indicators and targets for outcomes and productivity. The Shelter Manager partners with the Director of Residential Services on quality programming and improvements. This position works with other internal staff, leaders, and community partners in providing residential services.

Participate in all required training and attends staff, team, and supervision meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in social services or commensurate experience
Minimum one year of supervisory and/or leadership experience and/or commensurate combination of education/experience
Minimum two years advocacy experience and/or case management services in a domestic violence shelter highly preferred
Experience with effective handling of hotline calls, crisis intervention, and conflict mediation
Knowledgeable of the dynamics of domestic violence and an understanding of trauma and its impact
Excellent customer service, team-building and innovative problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability for open communication, collaboration, and relationship-building
Experience providing culturally competent services to a diverse client group
Excellent time management, organizational skills, and computer literacy
Valid driver’s license and car insurance with an ability to meet Rose Brooks Center’s driving requirements
Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
WORK HOURS:
The shelter operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. A minimum of 40 hours per week, primarily scheduled Wednesday through Saturday 6am to 4pm. Flexibility is needed to meet the ongoing needs of the shelter, including occasional overnight and day hours, as well as periodic on-call rotation and some holidays.
COMPENSATION: This position falls into an exempt range starting at an annual salary of $50,000.
