Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) Program Support Specialist
The primary responsibility of the LIHEAP Program Support Specialist is to provide comprehensive support to the LIHEAP team to ensure the timely and accurate processing of applications. LIHEAP helps low-income households meet their energy needs.
Mid America Assistance Coalition (MAAC) has a contract with the State of Missouri to process LIHEAP applications for residents in Clay, Jackson and Platte Counties. Employees must be willing and able to adhere to program guidelines and requirements as set forth by the State.
Requirements: BA/BS in a related field preferred, High School Diploma or GED required; and 1 year of experience in customer service, office environment, and data entry. Reliable transportation. This position requires the ability to effectively communicate and to provide service to individuals from various socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. Ability to handle stress and remain calm. Computer proficiency with Windows-based operating system. Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
Responsibilities: Support LIHEAP Manager with administrative duties. Support in-office team as needed. Review EA, Docuware and MIS reports. Assist with payment processing and reporting. Monitor office supplies and assist with ordering. Facilitate long term file storage. Perform processes with accuracy and adherence to program regulations. Provide courteous and friendly customer services. Other duties as needed.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work
- Lifting is occasionally required (offices supplies, boxes of copy paper and files, approximately 30-35lbs)
- Regular, predictable attendance is required
- Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic)
- Ability to work in a confined area
- Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time
This is a non-exempt salary position with an annual pay rate of 33K - 35K (roughly $17-$18/hr) based on a 37.5 hour work week.
