Organization Description: Kansas City Ballet is a 30-member professional ballet company under the direction of Artistic Director Devon Carney and Executive Director David Gray. Our professional company, the second company (comprised of KCB II and Trainees), and our professional dance school, seek to nurture and develop our artists, audiences, and students in the values inherent in the creativity, diversity, and joy of dance.

Job Description and Responsibilities: The position of Maintenance Associate is a broad ranging job to care for and maintain the Todd Bolender Center campus and facility of 50,000 sq ft and the Meadowbrook 10,000sq ft campus. Working with contracted janitorial company and property management, the individual will be in charge of keeping both facilities both inside and outside in excellent working condition and to a high degree of “clean and polish” at all times. A more complete listing of duties is available upon request. All KCB employees are required to complete a background check prior to employment start.
  
Requirements

  • Experience and knowledge with mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems
  • Experience ordering janitorial and other maintenance supplies
  • Broad knowledge of floor maintenance and willingness to learn about maintaining dance floors
  • Good communication skills to work with a wide variety of KCB constituents and other contracted companies.
  • Janitorial work as needed
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a 15 passenger van
  • Physically able to lift 50lbs
  • Self-motivated
