Financial Administrator

The Financial Administrator works with Rainbow staff, volunteers, members, committees, boards, and wider community members and organizations to help us carry out our church vision and follow sound financial practices and procedures. This position supports and enables the Church Treasurer and Stewardship Committee to fulfill their responsibilities. This position reports to the Lead Pastor.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

General

 
  • Work with the RMC Treasurer to fully understand and support the church financial processes and structure.

  • Maintain good accounting practices and processes under the direction of the RMC Treasurer and Stewardship Committee.

  • Perform clerical functions of reviewing invoices, writing and printing checks, and filing invoices per guidelines.

  • Monitor accounts payable and receivable and seek to keep good relations with vendors and to keep abreast of their services to RMC.

  • Make deposits as required.

  • Prepare reports for church staff and committees as requested. 

  • Maintain petty cash fund.

  • Monitor church credit card purchases and limits to avoid abuses or problems.

  • Periodic coordination of audits as directed by the Stewardship Committee 

  • Assist, as requested, with employee benefit questions or changes, such as health insurance.



 

Facilities and Grounds

  • Help ensure proper and up-to-date financial record-keeping on the plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems

  • Assist, as requested by Trustees, with securing and managing contracts of vendor services ensuring competitive and fair pricing;

  • As directed by Lead Pastor, assist in ensuring maintenance records are in compliance with all applicable codes, inspections, and regulations.

  • As directed by Lead Pastor, assist in reviewing all outside vendor invoices to ensure and verify satisfactory completion of work.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Quickbooks, etc.). 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

  • Reasonable understanding of accounting principles.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

Job Type: 10 hours, Nonexempt 

Salary Range: $21-23 per hour
