Job Title: Coordinator, Civic and Community Initiatives
Reports to: SVP, Civic and Community Initiatives
Overview: This role provides support to the Civic and Community Initiatives programs in service to the Chamber’s strategic plan, focusing specifically on Healthy KC and Military Affairs.
Responsibilities:
- (30%) *Facilitate the Healthy KC initiative and collaborate with volunteer committees to execute activities
- Plan and execute programming, including finding locations, coordinating panelists and vendors, and handling logistics.
- Organize Annual Healthy KC Event, including finding location, coordinating panelists and vendors.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Events team.
- Administer and review Healthy Workplace Wellness Certification on a biannual basis, working with committees to review and update the survey as necessary.
- Research and report on ongoing healthy workplace trends.
- Create resources and events related to behavioral health.
- Run point on Healthcare Anchor Network.
- (25%) *Facilitate the Military Affairs initiative and collaborate with volunteer committees to execute activities
- Engage with committee to determine programming.
- Plan and execute programming, including finding locations, coordinating panelists and vendors, and handling logistics.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Events Team.
- (25%) *Support Leadership Exchange and other key initiatives
- Serve on Leadership Exchange project team, organizing speaker and delegate information, gathering presentations and app content and handling logistics as needed.
- Support key programs including Public Safety efforts and World Cup 2026.
- Coordinate logistics and other advance work for convenings with other area Chambers and civic groups.
- (20%) *Manage department interns
- Serve as a member of the Intern Committee to ensure the program is successful and sustainable.
- Oversee the department intern recruitment and hiring process in coordination with HR.
- Supervise interns’ day-to-day workload and team project.
- Administer regular reviews of performance and goals in accordance with the program guidelines.

Education and Experience:
- Four-year college degree and at least 2 year’s relevant experience required
