Overview: This role is instrumental in supporting programming and initiatives aimed at our Missouri State Affairs, Public Policy Council, the KC BizPAC, and other committees in service to the Chamber’s strategic plan.
Responsibilities:
- (40%) Manage the Chamber’s engagement and advocacy with the City of Kansas City, MO
- Engage and regularly connect with Kansas City elected officials and staff members to maintain relationships and advocate on policy issues on behalf of our Members.
- Attend City Council meetings and other legislative sessions.
- Provide timely updates to Members on legislation and priorities.
- Regular management of Kansas City, MO Business Leadership Council meetings to include invitations, registration tracking, distribution of materials, etc.
- Research Chamber policy positions and collaboration opportunities with relative stakeholders and partners.
- (20%) Manage operations of the KC BizPAC
- Regular meeting management to include invitations, registration tracking, distribution of materials, etc.
- Manage candidate communication to schedule and confirm interviews, distribute contributions, schedule candidate events, etc.
- Research and compile information on local and state candidates.
- Administer, collect, and evaluate candidate surveys. Administer PAC member votes, tabulations, tracking, etc. among PAC members.
- Manage bimonthly ethics filings in Missouri. Manage member contribution invoicing and collections.
- (20%) Assist SVP, Public Policy in administering Missouri State Affairs (MSA) programming
- Manage MSA communications and advocacy requests.
- Gather and prepare information on Chamber policy positions for Missouri testimony, communications, and legislative hearings.
- Research Chamber policy positions and collaboration opportunities with relative stakeholders and partners.
- (10%) Manage Public Policy Council
- Membership sales to non-initiative members
- Manage, plan, and promote Public Policy Council programming.
- Write and distribute communications on requested advocacy action.
- (10%) Support department events as needed

Education and Experience:
- Minimum four to five years relevant work experience and four-year college degree
